The wise men brought Jesus three gifts. They brought him gold, frankincense, and myrh. Then the wise men left and went back to their own country knowing that they had seen the child that would one day save all people.

Ok I am going to tell you a little bit more of the story of baby Jesus …

After baby Jesus was born there was some shepherds looking after their sheep on the hills near Bethlehem. Suddenly the sky shone bright with light. Don’t be scared, said an angel, “Go to Bethlehem, there you will a baby who is Christ the Lord.”

We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup. Syrup gives us energy. We found the syrup and had some so we can stay awake and watch movies with you on the way home.

Here is the next part of the story of Jesus…

The wise men kept following the star and at last they stopped over Bethlehem. The wise men found Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. They knelt down in front of Jesus and gave him presents that they had brought him.

The wise men soon started on a very long journey, watching and following the star every night. They came to the great city of Jerusalem. They asked about the new ruler but they were told to go on.

Far away, some wise men saw a very bright star in the sky. They knew that something very important had happened. They decided it meant a new ruler had been born and they must go and find him

The shepherds ran to Bethlehem. They soon found the stable. They went and knelt down in front of the baby. They told Mary what the angle had said. Then they went out and told everyone they met about Jesus.

Let’s continue on with the story. Of the birth of Jesus…

Mary and Joseph are in Bethlehem and it is very crowded. All the rooms were taken. At last they found a stable and Joseph made a bed out of hay for Mary. There were animals all around them. I bet it was stinky in there. What do you think Noah? Mary and Joseph started preparing for baby Jesus to be born.

Elfcapades Day 4

This moring the boys found the elves had made a fort and were reading Christmas books.

I have to tell you more of the story…Do you remember what part of the story we left off at from yesterday?

So Mary and Joseph became husband and wife. They had to go register for their taxes. Back then they did not have cars. So Mary and Joseph loaded all their stuff up and rode a donkey into town. They took food with them and clothes for the baby. The long journey lasted days and they walked most of the way. When they reached Bethlehem it was full of people and Mary and Joseph could not find anywhere to sleep.

Elfcapades Day 3

Today the boys woke up and found the elves riding around on the fire truck.

Let me continue with our story…

Mary was nervous about being a mom but she trusted in God. She was going to get married to a man named Joseph. He was a carpenter,that means he built tables and chairs out of wood. She told him about seeing the angel Gabriel and what he told her about the baby in her belly. Joseph was confused. Then he had a dream when he was sleeping one night. In his dream God told him that what Mary was saying was the truth. So Joseph trusted God that he should have Mary be his wife and be Jesus’ daddy here on earth.

Elfcapades Day 2

Noah and Danny woke up this morning and the elves were missing! Dun Dun Dun!!! Don't worry we found them. It seems they were having fun making snowmen.

Here is the letter they left for Noah and Danny...

Hi Noah and Daniel. Santa has been watching to make sure that you have been good boys this year. We were so excited when he told us that we were coming to play with you both. He can’t wait to bring you presents on Christmas Day. In fact, we even helped Santa in his shoppe to make your toys! Noah please remember to be patient and kind to your little brother and keep your listening ears on. Danny be nice to your brother, he loves you very much! We will be reporting to Santa!

The reason he sent me was to remind you the true meaning on Christmas – the birth of Jesus. So everyday I am going to tell you a little bit more of the story of Jesus.

You get to play with me all day long and then at night you have to put me in my little pouch and sprinkle me with the North Pole Snowflakes. Also don’t forget to leave me some crackers and water at night. That is what us elves eat. Why crackers and water, you might wonder? The crackers sound like crunching snow, and the water is melted North Pole Snowflakes. The donuts that your Mom bought for you remind us of snow too. So we made a snowman. Do you like it?

At night I get a little crazy and I will do fun things all over your house. I might even leave you some gifts or candy. It will be such fun for you to find me every morning. It is kind of like hide-n-seek. And I KNOW YOU LOVE hide-n-seek.

Oh I almost forgot…let’s begin the story….

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago there was a girl named Mary. God loved her very much. He sent an angel to visit her. The angels name was Gabriel. She was scared at first but then Gabriel said not to be afraid because He was sent from God. Then he told her she had a baby in her belly that she was supposed to name Jesus.

Happy Birthday to my Big 5 year old Noah!

I can’t believe you are already 5 years old. I can still remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. You were the best baby. You hardly ever cried. You slept through the night by the time you were three months old. You were a very happy baby.

Holding your baby brother Danny reminds me so much of when you were his age. I used to snuggle you all the time.

In just a few short months you will not be home with me everyday because you will be in kindergarten. You are already reading beginner books. You are so ready for school. It makes me kind of sad to know that we won’t be able to get up in the mornings and go to the park or run errands together.

Yesterday, Daddy took you to see the movie cars 2 because he had to work on your birthday. He let you get anything you wanted. You guys had pizza, nachos, popcorn, and candy. You had so much fun.

Today we got up and you wanted to open your presents right then. So I let you. This year you asked for a toy that you and your brother could play together. That is so you. You are always thinking about everyone else. After we opened presents we went to YaYa’s and she cooked you breakfast right after you opened presents from her and PopPop. Then we went to the park. When Danny got tired we came home to give him a nap. While he was sleeping we made your birthday cake. Then we went swimming. We came home and I decorated your birthday cake. You wanted a skateboard cake. So I made you one with your toy skateboards on top. Then we went with the family to eat chicken wings because that is what you wanted for dinner. Daddy called you several times today because he was sad that he wasn’t with you on your birthday. What a great Daddy you have! I hope that you had a wonderful 5th birthday!!! I love you Noah. Love Mommy

Family Vacation. Today we went to the Lion Country Safari. It was a blast! We ate a Conchy Joe’s.Pop Pop and the kids fed the fish and the seagulls. What a great view.

We drove around and just had fun. We ate our favorite restaurant, Crawdaddy’s. We always eat here every time we go!

Trip to the beach.

We went to visit family and had a great game of football. It was so much fun!

The play area at the airport on the way home saved us. The kids had fun. I loved the artwork!

We had a blast. Whitney was in town. We had the water slide and the bounce house. Don’t forget the firecrackers!

A fun day at the water park. Noah is so proud that he can go off the slide that dumps you into 10 feet of water. Danny really enjoys the little lazy river.

Sophie and Noah’s first day of swim class and I had to jump in to get Noah. I don’t think the instructor realized he was not as tall as the other kids and he couldn’t just stand with his head above water.

What I learned today about Couponing.

There are so many sites out there about couponing. It can be so overwhelming. So today I thought I would try it out. This week Harris Teeter is tripling manufacturers coupons. So here is what I learned.

It takes a long time and a lot of patients to cut all of the coupons. ( it took me an hour to print and cut all of the coupons I thought I was going to use)
Don’t take your kids when you are serious about using coupons. ( I took both kids with me and it was very difficult to concentrate on the task at hand)
Make sure your coupons aren’t expired. ( I had 2 that were expired)
They only triple the coupons up to $.99. ( I had several $1 and over that I thought were going to be tripled that weren’t)

Overall I thought I still did pretty good. My total was $105.70.

After my VIC card $99.49.

After my coupons $62.64

Here is the dog I had to spend 5 minutes trying to chase out of my garage. I opened it and he snuck in while we were trying to leave to go to (duh) Target (surprise, surprise) I finally got him out by giving him Noah’s football to chew on. (what a great Mom I am.) So I very carefully back out of the garage. Woo clear…I did not hit the dog. Close the garage…Wait…That little rat snuck under as the door was going down. So I get back out of the car and I am yelling at the dog to stay back while I stand in front of the door as it goes down. If anyone was watching me I’m sure they were peeing in their pants from laughing so hard.
